Fall Color Trends 2018
Michigan has an uncanny way of challenging us to live in the moment. You know what we’re talking about–one minute it’s summer, then -POOF!- it’s gone. While we don’t always appreciate the changing weather, we can appreciate a beautiful Michigan fall. Sage
Did your mom ever tell you that you need to eat more greens? Well, the same can be true for your home! This season is all about warm colors with crisp undertones like the ever popular color on Pinterest, sage. Move over celery, fall 2018 is all about fresh, clean sage! What makes sage so great? For starters, it’s soft. Unlike emerald hues and grassy looks, sage has been called, by some, 2018/2019’s version of grey. Subtle enough to make you wonder what color it is, sage lures you in without being overbearing. Its muted tone allows your furniture and accent pieces to do the talking. Bring out its blue undertone with a few well-places grey/blue pieces. Or, emphasis it’s chill-green vibe by sticking to neutrals like tan and beige. Sage is so lovely and versatile–it really adds a classic feel to any space.
Violet
Purple is definitely making a comeback these days, especially after Pantone released Ultra Violet as its color of the year! We couldn’t be more pleased to start incorporating more shades of violet into our decor schemes. In general, purple tends to add an air of regality to a space. It’s stately shade acts as the perfect accent to virtually any backdrop and according to Pantone, violet has been known to possess a mindful quality. Don’t be afraid to play with this artful hue this season. Fall 2018 is all about introducing edgy colors!
Yellow – of ALL varieties
Well, the verdict is out: yellow is definitely in this season. However, which shade is best suited for fall 2018 really depends on who you ask. While some style experts are calling mustard the “it” shade for yellow this year, others prefer a more lighthearted hue like sunshine yellow or macaroni. (Yum!) The best part of adding in a dash of yellow? It looks absolutely amazing when paired with violet.
Our personal favorite, Blush
Blush is definitely on our radar this year! We just can’t get enough of its rosy hue that’s delicate and dusted. There’s something so feminine about this muted pink tone and we love how it adds a touch of flair to home decor. For easy styling, we love using blush colored throw pillows but you can make a more dramatic statement by adding in blush-toned wall art.
