Jackie’s 2023 Interior Design Predictions
As we enter the new year, we are all eager to see what the latest interior design trends have to offer. Jackie Schwartz, the owner of Home Interior Warehouse, shares her thoughts for 2023.
Colors
- Neutrals are warming up!! This is perhaps the biggest color change in years. Grays have shifted to taupe and greige. Cold, stark gray and white interiors have been trumped by these warmer tones as people are favoring the cozy feel of these more soothing neutrals.
- Black is a solid influence on design. We are seeing its growing use in cabinet color, hardware, and plumbing fixtures.
- Accent walls are back! We are using interesting wood trim design, such as narrow wood slats, painted deep rich colors. Charcoal and black are favorites, especially when light-colored sofas or credenzas are placed on that wall. The strong contrast is a trend she predicts is here to stay. Creating the juxtaposition of light and dark with your larger furniture pieces will ensure your neutral palette is never boring.
- Metallics of all colors are popular with gold leading the charge.
- Spice things up with art and accessories with bold pops of color. Greens and blues are still favorites and timeless choices.
- With Pantone’s 2023 Color of the Year being Viva Magenta, Jackie feels we will see the influence of shades of burgundy, magenta, and softer rose incorporated into fabrics and accessories.
- Lighter natural woods are being favored for cabinets and flooring. These tones offer the bonus of much easier maintenance.
- Using botanical elements for accessorizing is on the rise. Permanent arrangements designed with high-quality materials allow us to bring the beauty of flowers, succulents, and large plants into our home without the maintenance. The likeness of these elements is truly remarkable and something Home Interior Warehouses specializes in.
Comfort & Casual Feel
COVID taught us all the importance of having a comfortable home – it’s been instilled in us for good.
- Sectionals are hugely popular as an inviting place to relax, watch our favorite shows, and to entertain.
- Formal spaces have shifted to places that are being used more often. Pristine living rooms and dining rooms are being replaced with more casual furniture that invites family dinners and perhaps a fun space to enjoy appetizers and your favorite cocktail.
As we move deeper into 2023 we are excited to present these trends to our guests. While trends influence our choices, personal style should always come first. With the help of our amazing team of on-staff interior designers, we can help you create a space that is beautiful, comfortable, and sure to last for years to come.
Everyone deserves a beautiful home!
