You Won’t Believe This Before and After!
At Home Interior Warehouse, one of our favorite things to do is help people style their homes–but, this isn’t just decorating! As interior designers we passionately believe in uncovering your home’s hidden potential and we do this by uncovering what make’s you, you! Though we absolutely love our retail locations in Walled Lake and Plymouth, it’s always such a treat to be able to go out into homes and get our hands dirty! In this blog we’ll be taking you through one of our most recent interior design projects. We had a blast redoing three rooms, including an entryway, of this open-concept style home. Be sure to take special note of all the unique accents we used in this space–each of which is available at our store. The Consultation

That’s why we always start a design project by sitting down for a casual chat to really get to know our clients. What are your favorite colors? What style(s) speak(s) to you? Do you have any heirloom pieces that are especially meaningful to you? What kind of personality do you have? What do you want to feel when you walk into your home? What do you want others to feel when they enter your home? These are just a few of the kinds of questions that help establish a vision for what your home’s decor should look and feel like. Once we start to understand what kind of design you’re interested in we get to work and let the fun begin!
Before
And here, ladies & gentlemen, are some of the before photos! Honestly, we had a great space to work with from the start. The structure of this home was all there–we just needed to elevate it’s design a bit. What can seem like a long daunting project is often just a weekend’s worth of cosmetic changes that can be as hands-on DIY or hired-out as you like. One of the highlights of this space was the floor-to-ceiling windows. With an abundance of natural light pouring in, we wanted to keep this space clean, sleek, and neutral so we kept the furniture subtle. Another feature of this space was its statement fireplace — talk about gorgeous! We really wanted to draw the eye to that centering point and let its craftsmanship speak for itself. You’ll also notice the rather drab looking kitchen. Again, we had a fabulous base to work with here so sprucing this space up worked like a charm! Just wait til’ you see the after photos!
After
Are you squealing as much as we are?! We just LOVE how this home turned out! From the bigger changes like flooring, cabinetry and countertops to the teeniest details like nailhead trim on the furniture, no stone was left unturned during this interior design project. We really wanted to focus on bringing this look together by incorporating unique and unexpected accent pieces. We love incorporating unique and non-traditional wall art into our spaces, especially the colorful accents use in this space. What do you think?
