2017 Color Trends by MoodDebra
Pantone’s Color of the Year? That’s just the beginning…
While we’re totally in love with Pantone’s “greenery” (the wedding centerpieces this has inspired are to die for!) there’s a whole list of colors to fall in love with this year!
As a Michigan based company, we have a particular appreciation for colors that bring meaning into darker winter days, and colors that embrace some of the wintery hues we have here. We’re also a state entirely comprised of greenery (Shout out to Ann Arbor, named for it’s sheer quantity of trees!). We’re feeling the love this color-palette season!
As we’ve said before, all the information on social media about DIY and design can be overwhelming. We broke down the up-coming trend by mood/attitude to help it be a little more digestible. Hope it sticks in your memory as you brainstorm this year’s home dreams!
Uninhibited: Dusky Blue
This color combo is made to calm, but, not in the put-you-to-bed kind of way. If you’re not into using yellows to accent the dusk blue, keep those windows uncovered and open! That’s the feel we’re going for in this scheme anyway. Dusky blue is the color of the hour, and it won’t make you feel blue at all.
Shout out to East Coast Creative Blog for the image!
Relaxed: Stoney Grey
Keep cool and calm with this trending color. A mineral or stoney grey is both bold, and on the neutral spectrum. I love the warmed grey (taupe) that came out strong this past year. The stoney grey is a great way to continue the neutral inpiration.
Demure: Pastel Pinks
Rose gold and rose pinks are here for another year at least! The nice thing about this color is that it really highlights natural lighting. It also is great to use fun fabrics, textiles or patterns with. Give it a try if you’re ready for the bold edge this soft color takes!
We’ve kept the best for last–there are MORE colors trending for 2017! But, as promised, we didn’t want to be overwhelming with information. We’ll try to roll out those colors to ya soon.
Love and DIY,
