Create a Great Entryway
Your entryway sets the tone for your entire home, both to those who live there and also to guests. So what is your foyer saying? Is it boring and cluttered or beautiful and inviting? If it doesn’t reflect your home and style, there are some ways you can improve your entryway.
Organize
Of course the first thing you want to do is keep your entryway clean and organized. A cluttered doorway will not put your family or guests at ease when they walk into your home, so make sure that there is a place for everything that collects in this area. A nice ottoman or seat storage unit is a great solution for storage as well as somewhere to sit when putting shoes on or taking them off.

Decorate
The style you decorate your foyer in will go a long way towards setting the mood in your home. This is a personal choice if you want it to feel more down to earth and homey or classy and dramatic. The Young Wife’s Guide blog recommends keeping decor to a minimum, however, to keep the space from getting cluttered. So make sure your decor does double duty like the aforementioned ottoman or a functional and beautiful mirror.
Illuminate
Another way to make people feel welcome in your home is to make the space bright and cheery. Natural light from windows is wonderful in the day time, but in the evenings and on dreary days make sure your entryway is still illuminated with a stylish lamp. Get one with a decorative shade that goes with the style of your house to add another functional piece of decor to your doorway.
