Decorate with Spring Colors
Celebrate the arrival of warmer weather and new life popping up everywhere by adding some spring colors to your home. If the thought of robin’s egg blue and grass green everywhere scares you, don’t worry. There are a lot of ways to bring bits of spring into your decor without being overwhelming according to Better Homes and Gardens.
Small Touches
Rather than painting your dining room lavender or buying a yellow couch, keep the nod to spring manageable with small touches instead of big changes. Add some cheery throw pillows to your bed and switch out muted art work for some pastel prints to bring a little lightness to your rooms. Also since these pieces are temporary they can be traded for something more seasonally appropriate once spring is gone.
One Color
If you want something more permanent than pillows and artwork to liven up your home, opt for one spring color that your really love rather than multiple soft colors. One strategically placed pastel or bright color throughout the room can look great. A vibrant green shower curtain and matching towels brighten up your bathroom without being too much.
Balance with Bold
Another way to insure the spring hues aren’t overwhelming is to balance them with bolder tones. This jewel toned couch would contrast nicely with a soft pink rug beneath it. Darker colors keep pastels from making the room look too feminine or bright colors from making it appear childish and also bring an air of sophistication to your decor.
