Jeff S – Florida Home Update
When Jeff moved to his new home at the beginning of this year, he knew that he wanted Home Interior Warehouse to help with designing it. He had previously worked with their interior designers for both his condo in Michigan and his first home in Florida and was so pleased with their work that he hired them again.
What made you seek out an interior designer to help with your home?
We wanted a designer that could work with us throughout the whole process in order to help the house come together well. Home Interior Warehouse was able to do that for us. They helped from the beginning with builder selections, which made the coordination with a furniture and accessories afterword much easier.
It sounds like you had this house built, is that correct?
Yes
How was the process of working with an interior designer from the very beginning different than working with them in a house that was already built?
The process is much easier if your designer is included from the beginning, this way the whole package is customized to your taste and choices. In a used, already built home the designer must work with the bones that are already there.
What were the main reasons you decided to hire Home Interior Warehouse to do your interior design?
They are a family owned business and not a big chain so my business means something to them. They show genuine interest in what they do and want to make sure you enjoy your home. I have also used them prior and they did a fantastic job.
How has having an interior designer affected your design hopes and dreams?
It has helped it come to reality. You have someone you share your ideas with and they can turn it around into reality for you
How would you describe the style of your home? Contemporary/Modern? Rustic? Classic? Something else? Did you know this was your style before or did the interior designer help you discover that?
Contemporary, I knew a bit about it before from researching things on Houzz and going to different builder models. Home Interior Warehouse was able to make it happen for me
Was having an interior designer the experience you expected?
Yes, it was much easier to have an expert who cared rather than try going it alone at a big box store.
What was your favorite part of having a HIW interior designer working in your home? How would you describe the way the interior designer listened and interpreted your design hopes and dreams?
My favorite thing was that Home Interior Warehouse found a way to accommodate my design needs even though I am out of state from them now. They did my original condo in Michigan and did such a good job I wanted them to do my home in Florida. They were able to make this happen for me.
Could you explain the process of working with an interior designer long distance? Did you have a lot of input in the design or did you let the decorator handle most of details? How did you communicate (e-mails, phone calls, video chat, etc.)?
The process was pretty seamless. There was a little bit of everything as far as communication is concerned as Home Interior Warehouse has that ability. I did make a visit to HIW showroom to confirm and see all the choices in person but it was not necessary. I had just as much input being long distance as I feel I would have been local. HIW set up delivery with a local white glove service, it was seamless!
Do you have a favorite piece or pieces that were added to your home? Why is it / are they your favorite?
While I enjoy all my furniture especially my custom leather couch from HIW, and it is really some of the cool lighting they helped with that sets the home apart. It’s really cool that Home Interior Warehouse has the ability to do everything in your home, not just furniture or accessories. It really was an all in one solution for me; they provided design consulting with my builder, furniture, accessories, rugs, lighting, deliver service. They made it all come together!
