The Dresser of Your Dreams

January is well known to be a month of resolutions and renovations. If updating your furniture is one of your to-do’s in 2016 the Home Interior Warehouse located at 1017 E. West Maple Road in Walled Lake, MI is the place to go! If you are overdue for a new dresser we have many beautiful options. Here are some things to consider before you go shopping.
Style
The first question to ask yourself when in the market for a dresser is what style you want. According to Wayfair there are three main types of dressers. The horizontal or standard is best if you want more space on top to display items, while the vertical dresser requires less room if you are short on floor space. There is also a combo dresser which not only has drawers but also doors for additional storage.
Size
You will want to measure where your new dresser will go and get one that is smaller so that it doesn’t look cramped in your room. Also, Wayfair recommends leaving 10-12 inches to open the drawers.
Quality
Obviously a nicer dresser will cost a bit more, but if you want to get something that lasts you will want to go with higher quality. HGTV offers some tricks to knowing if a dresser is high quality at first glance such as more drawers, custom hardware, and smaller drawers at the top of the dresser rather than all the same size.
Material
The last choice is what type of material you want your dresser made out of, whether maple, oak, cherry or some other wood. If you are not buying a set of bedroom furniture make sure your dresser compliments your existing pieces.
